A: The fingerprints are stored as templates rather than images and contain details of the fingerprint and patterns. Patterns describe a sample fraction of ridge shapes. The templates don’t contain enough information to reconstruct fingerprint images therefore are completely secure. The signatures are digitally encrypted and stored in a binary format and cannot be taken off the mobile handset. All data is encrypted using a AES128/SHA1 algorithm.
